Darla, a first-generation college graduate from Cambridge, Massachusetts, has over two decades of experience advancing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging across industries. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Emmanuel College and a graduate degree from Simmons University School of Management.
As the inaugural Global Head of Inclusive Talent Sourcing and Strategy at Morgan Stanley, Darla has developed strategies to build diverse talent pipelines that align with business needs.
Darla has expanded firm-wide partnerships with organizations like the ALPFA, NABA, NBMBAA, Year Up, and Hiring Our Heroes, among others. She also helped establish the firm’s MSI strategy, engaging with HBCUs and HSIs to connect students with internships and careers in financial services. These initiatives, delivered in collaboration with her team and the campus recruiting team, have been pivotal in expanding access for underrepresented talent.
Working closely with her team and other parts of the firm, Darla has strengthened efforts around internal mobility, alumni engagement, referrals, and boomerang hiring strategies, improving hiring outcomes and talent retention. Her team also oversees programmatic hiring efforts, including Year Up, Hiring Our Heroes, the Return-to-Work Program, and military spouse initiatives, advancing workforce inclusivity.
Before joining Morgan Stanley, Darla founded DeGrace Group Consulting, LLC, where she provided DEIB consulting and staffing services to clients across industries. At Reebok, she led diversity recruitment, launched the first employee resource group for people of color, and built the brand’s first internship and partnership with an HBCU —Howard University.
Darla is also the co-founder of Lincoln Way Projects, LLC, a real estate investment firm focused on providing affordable, safe housing that fosters thriving, inclusive communities — named after the public housing development she grew up in.
Darla serves on the boards of Year Up United, the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta, and Morehouse College’s Business and Economics Division. Alvin Mathew has over 20 years of experience in consumer insights across the CPG and healthcare industries. At Haleon, he leads a U.S. insights team focused on wellness and digestive health brands such as Centrum, Emergen-C and TUMS.
He is passionate about understanding consumer behavior, guiding strategic decisions, and outside of work, enjoys traveling and cycling with his family.

She’s a thought leader on topics related to leadership, career development, motivation, engagement and more.
Among her most recent awards: On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Red Shoe Movement, she received a Special Citation by New York State Governor Kathy Huchul for the impact of her company and its initiative #RedShoeTuesday. She’s the recipient of the “Leadership in D&I within an agency of any size” by the Public Relations Society of America; She’s listed as one of the top 100 global influencers on Gender Equality by Onalytica; Mariela has received the “Visionary of the Year” award by the Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Proclamations by the New York State Governor, the New York State Senate.
